Ancient Wizdom In A New Age

Timeless Truths for Transformation and Inner Awakening

Book Three - Chapter Forty Eight

“How are you going to get this message through now that your teachings have become so polluted, Jeshua?”

“I re-introduced my original teaching in 1965 by transmitting my thoughts via telepathy to Helen Schucman, a gifted channel. Helen was a psychologist at Columbia University. Over the next seven years, she took notes of my transmissions in shorthand. She dictated them to William Thetford, a professor of psychology at the same institution. Together in 1975, they published A Course in Miracles.”

“Helen was the daughter of non-practising Jewish parents and described herself as an atheist. She could record my words with little distortion because she had been unencumbered by Christian doctrine in her childhood. In another life, nearly two thousand years earlier, both Helen and William had been disciples of mine in Palestine; so they had my original teachings in their soul memories.”

“Is this book required reading for Christians who are ready to part with the malware the hierarchy implanted?”

“A Course in Miracles is the most powerful course for Christians to undertake. When I say Christians, I’m referring to most people in the Western world, because most Westerners have had past lives as Christians, even if they have no connection to any Christian Church in their current lives.”

“Are you saying that most Europeans, Australians, and people from both American continents have had Christian lives in the past, even though they may now be atheists or Buddhists?”

“Yes. I have channelled this book especially for them. They have had lifetimes of indoctrination, much of which is misleading them in their current lives.”

“My apostles also started with belief systems that didn’t fit with my teachings, but they were more open to what I had to say. They didn’t have 1800 years of indoctrination to undo. So A Course in Miracles undertakes to help remove the tares sown by dark forces and install my original teachings. It gives you the truth about life, and it will help you realise your true nature.”

“The author, Helen Schucman, did not put her name on the original book. She remained in the shadows as she saw herself only as a transcriber of wisdom from a higher source. Her introductory paragraph summed up the course:

“The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.”

Not only do you project your shadow sides onto other people, but you also project them onto your bodies. Your medical profession focuses on the body, seeing it as the cause of illness. Yet the body is but the screen upon which your mind projects its thoughts. The body has no goals of its own. It is just a mass of water, carbon, and organic chemicals, through which your consciousness operates. The cells of your body are constantly changing to reflect the beliefs you feed them.”

“If you constantly berate yourself when you make simple errors or when you can’t achieve tasks beyond your ability, you feed your body negative energy. Spending months in victim mode, resenting the actions of another person, feeds it toxic energy. Eventually, your body will fall ill, reflecting the sick thoughts you feed it.”

“Your culture sees disease as a foreign invader. Yet disease comes from within. It arises from resistance to the flow of life. Resenting what life brings results in negative emotions. If you think other people or outer circumstances cause your anger or grief, you are projecting the blame away from your own beliefs and onto them. By fighting what you see as these outer causes, you are resisting what is. If you persist with the resistance, your mental and emotional suffering will ultimately reach the cellular level and manifest as pain or disease in the body.”

“So, in a way, we are trying to defend ourselves against the slings and arrows of life’s challenges?”

“A Shakespearean way of putting it, Greg. Buddha taught that our cravings cause all our suffering. We crave to have what we don’t have. Or we crave not to have what we do have. We suffer because we fight life instead of going with what life brings. Yet life knows what it is doing. A loving force that has our best interests in mind is behind everything that happens.”
